Washington Post’s Wonkblog Ranks Banning Fluoride among Worst Policy Ideas
The Washington Post’s Wonkblog closed 2014 with its list of the eleven worst policy ideas in 2014. Third among them were the ongoing efforts by anti-fluoride activists to remove fluoride from local water supplies. Wonkblog used Wellington County, Florida as an example of one community that lost. Despite earning a ranking on this list, attempts to roll-back fluoride failed miserably in many communities around the country last year, demonstrating that the sound public policy can prevail.
