1 in 5 Have Untreated Cavities; Race and Income Matter -Fluoridation is Key
One in five Americans have untreated dental cavities according to a new CDC report. Twenty percent of children ages 5-11 suffer from untreated cavities – the numbers are higher when race, ethnicity and income are factored in.
Research shows that water fluoridation is one of the “most effective and practical methods” for reducing disparities that exist in the rate of dental decay.
